"Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants."
Deuteronomy 32:2

Obtaining an education is beyond the current financial capabilities of the vast majority of the people of Burma since 90% of the population lives at or below the poverty line. The average per capita income in Burma is approximately $200 a year or less than 54 cents a day. We have hired a Burmese National to coordinate this effort of establishing small Christian schools in the poorer sections of the city of Yangon.

These schools are purposefully started in primarily Buddhist neighborhoods as a means of providing interested families an opportunity for their children to gain a free education while exposing them to Christian beliefs and values. One of the keys to any country's future is its educational system, and the way by which that system nurtures the talents of its youth. In Burma, the educational system continues to deteriorate out of fear than an educated people will want a higher quality of living and demand more of their government.
